August 16, 2011 Board Meeting Agenda Item #31 Title APPROVAL TO AWARD BID #12-0125 FOR TREE TRIMMING AND REMOVAL SERVICES Description Bids to provide 'Tree Trimming and Removal Services' were received from seven vendors on June 28, 2011.  The bids of Blades of Green as the primary vendor for north county locations and the secondary vendor for south county locations, and Ameri-Pride, Inc., as the primary vendor for south county locations and the secondary vendor for north county locations were the best low bids meeting the advertised specifications.  This bid is for a period of one year with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods.  The funds for these purchases are contained in the transfer from capital budget allocated to the Facilities Services Department. Recommendation That the bids of Blades of Green as the primary vendor for north county locations and the secondary vendor for south county locations and Ameri-Pride, Inc., as the primary vendor for south county locations and the secondary vendor for north county locations, to provide 'Tree Trimming and Removal Services' in an amount not to exceed $150,000, be approved for award and purchase.
